Haydrian Vice President Speaks in Mexico City

October 2nd
In conjunction with the United States Embassy, Haydrian held a breakfast seminar for financial institutions at Hotel Nikko in Mexico City on September 20th. The subject of the seminar was “Enfrentando Riesgos Financieros en un Mundo Dinámico” (‘Facing Financial Risks in a Dynamic World’). The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of banks, Money Service Businesses (MSBs), insurance companies and other Mexican financial institutions.

Todd Avery, Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy, introduced the seminar. The main speaker was Martin Owen, Vice President, Product Design, Haydrian Corporation. Martin drew on his various experiences as a regulator at the UK's Financial Services Authority to discuss the different risks to which financial institutions are now exposed and the role of the regulators in isolating different risks and setting standards and expectations for how financial institutions manage them. Martin also summarized the standard framework for risk management and talked about how that could be applied specifically to money laundering and risk management, giving the benefits of a risk-based approach. The seminar was also addressed by Julio Cesar Arredondo of Banco Autofin, S.A., a retail bank, and Dulce Belmonte of Tamibe Casa de Cambio, an MSB, who described the value to their companies of Haydrian’s XM3 anti-money laundering system.
